Intercede identifies with Thales

Smart card systems designer Intercede has entered into a £0.5m licence agreement with Thales to use its MyID digital identity product and supply supporting services.

Lutterworth, Leicestershire based Intercede has an existing product customisation contract with Thales.

Thales integrated MyID with its SafeSign suite of products three years ago to create a full identity management solution. Thales is further investing in the solution and has carried out extensive product development on it.

Thales’ SafeSign Management Server and SafeSign Authentication Server together provide end-to-end identity management, user and message authentication. It allows the issue and management of various authentication and identification technologies, including PKI cards, USB tokens, handheld tokens, mobile phones, contact and contactless cards and biometric technologies.

Intercede Group develops smart card and identity management software. The group’s MyID software manages the secure registration, issue and lifecycle of digital identities for a wide range of uses. To do this, the company integrates multiple technologies and products from different vendors, including smart cards, biometrics, digital certificates, Open Platform applets and physical access control systems.
