LCRA awards Fluor contract for Marble Falls power plant

Fluor has announced that the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) has awarded the firm an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for its new 540MW combined-cycle Ferguson Replacement Project near Marble Falls, Texas.

Once LCRA receives the required permit from the US Environmental Protection Agency, which is projected to be by the end of 2011, Fluor expects to receive a notice to proceed to replace the 37-year-old, 420MW Thomas C Ferguson Power Plant near Marble Falls, Texas.

Construction will begin after LCRA receives all required permits and Fluor will book the undisclosed contract value into backlog once the permits are issued.
