Porvoon Energia orders Metso DNA automation system

Finnish energy company Porvoon Energia has ordered a Metso DNA automation system, including safety automation for its new biomass-fired power plant located  in Tolkkinen, about 50km northeast of Helsinki.

This plant has a capacity of 12MW of electricity and 38MW of thermal heat, which will be used for district heating in the town of Porvoo.

The delivery includes a boiler to be supplied by MW Power and an electrostatic precipitator controlled with Metso DNA

The plant, which will be started in early  2013, will be fuelled by forest residues, bark and sawdust.
