Jaguar Land Rover team explains aluminium shift

Jaguar Land Rover is investing £1.5bn in all-new aluminium vehicle architecture, a move described as ‘the biggest, boldest investment in Jaguar’s future’, and one that will create 1,700 new jobs in the West Midlands.

Earlier in the week the company used the Frankfurt Motor Show to reveal its C-X17 crossover concept, a vehicle that showcases the possibilities brought about by aluminium, such as shaving over 100kg off the sports crossover compared to a conventional steel body.

In the following video senior members of the Jaguar team explain why the company is pressing ahead with aluminium and the benefits that it will present to consumers.
