Joystocks control Babe

Joysticks from Penny & Giles Controls have been used by animatronics specialist Neal Scanlon Studios to control the eponymous hero of new movie; `Babe – Pig in the City’.

The JC600 joysticks provide the main X and Y axes, which operate the head movements, and the studio has added a further seven axes for the other controlled features. Acting as an analogue input device for the PAC animation control computer, the joystick is designed to allow the maximum number of options to be controlled using one hand.

Additionally, the lever feel can be changed using different spring rates, and the lever operating orientation can be controlled by a square or round gate profile to limit the extremes of lever travel in the X and Y axes.
