PMI data suggests that UK manufacturing is growing but is this promising indicator backed up by your own experience of the UK manufacturing sector?
Figures suggest UK manufacturing is continuing its solid second quarter performance into June 2013, with levels of production and new business rising at the fastest rates since April 2011 and February 2011 respectively.
At 52.5 in June, the seasonally adjusted Markit/CIPS Purchasing Manager’s Index posted above the neutral mark of 50.0 for the third month running.
We asked you to vote on whether this indicator is backed up by your current experience in UK manufacturing and a fifth said that it wasn’t.
Just under a quarter (23 per cent) said business is booming and a worrying 57 per cent of you said that it’s too early to tell, although there are reasons for cautious optimism.
