Linde Electronics invests in Voltaix-owned disilane plant

Linde Electronics has invested in an ultra-high-purity disilane plant in Upper Mount Bethel Township, Pennsylvania, owned by Voltaix.

Linde has partnered with Voltaix to facilitate the production of next-generation NAND flash memory chips, which requires high volumes of disilane (Si2H6).

The improving functionality of devices such as smartphones and tablets increases the demand for larger NAND and dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) capacity.

Linde’s investment in disilane and the Voltaix facility, which has an annual capacity of 40 tons, will reportedly enable a major US memory manufacturer to ramp up production of advanced NAND flash and DRAM chips to meet fast-growing industry demand.
