Line impedance increase reduces EMI

Three new ranges of EMC beads with high loss and high permitted current are available from Taiyo Yuden. The BK series consists of a high-loss multilayer ferrite bead inductor which reduces EMI by increasing the line impedance.

Available in sizes 0402, 0603, 0805 and 1206, the ferrite bead inductor BK has a temperature tolerance of -25 degreesC to +85 degreesC and -55 degreesC to 125 degreesC. These components range from 15W to 1800W impedance, measured at 100MHz, and exhibit a maximum dc resistance from 0.05W to 0.9W.

The FB series M-type sport a 4A current rating, making the components suitable for high current data line noise suppression. Available in sizes 0805, 1206 and 1802, the FBM is designed to operate at commercial temperature ratings. Measured at 100MHz, the impedance ranges from 33W to110W, and the maximum dc resistance is between 0.015W to 0.1W.
