Lynx contract for BAE Systems

AgustaWestland has placed an order with BAE Systems to design and produce crew seats, troop seats and interface frames for use on Britain’s Future Lynx aircraft.

to design and produce 140 S5000 crew seats plus 340 S3000 troop seats and interface frames for use on

Britain

’s Future Lynx aircraft. Initial deliveries are scheduled to take place between 2011 and 2016.

The S5000 crew seat incorporates a five-point harness with a dual action rotary buckle, armrest, headrest, adjustable thigh and lumbar support, and a folding armored wing panel to increase the lateral protective area. The S5000 crew seat can be installed in the field in less than an hour to provide ballistic protection.

The S3000 rear cabin troop seats include four-point lightweight restraints with a rotary buckle. The modular seat frame system features quick installation and removal of interface fittings from frames through the use of four quick release pins. The cabin seat can be installed in aft, forward, and side facing locations, accommodating different cabin layouts.
