MecWash Systems

NEW MD APPOINTMENT STRENGTHENS MECWASH AQUEOUS CLEANING COMMITMENT

The UK’s leading manufacturer of aqueous-based component cleaning equipment, MecWash Systems Ltd., has underlined its commitment to business development with senior appointments and key distribution agreements.

John Pattison has joined the company as Managing Director and brings extensive financial and marketing experience to the organisation.  He believes that the blend of benefits offered by both MecWash Systems and its specialist waste water treatment division, Aqua-Save Technologies, ring true with the main objectives of modern manufacturing.

“Since their introduction, MecWash machines have always been associated with component cleaning performance and environmental improvement,” he says.  “A long list of blue chip customers both in the UK and overseas, pays testimony to the ability of every machine in the range to achieve the highest levels of washing and drying – in many cases, acting as a direct replacement to solvent-based alternatives.

“Alongside this cleaning capability, the Aqua-Save range allows customers to minimise waste water disposal costs and re-use the water for other purposes on site.  These factors form the basis for sustained success – both during the coming year and well beyond,” he adds.

With a background that includes time at both KPMG and Coopers and Lybrand, John’s commitment to and understanding of commercial development is clear.  A major element of this, he believes, is to focus on developing the company’s export record, not least by growing its overseas distribution network.  This is the principle behind the recent distribution partnership between MecWash Systems and Metalas Cleaning Systems BV, who have a corresponding success record in aqueous-based component cleaning – typically for larger scale products – in the Netherlands and Germany.  In a related move, Dave Buckle has joined MecWash as UK Sales Manager, bringing his many years’ experience of the component cleaning market from Metalas where he ran UK sales.

In addition to the bilateral distribution agreement with Metalas, MecWash Systems Director Paul Young has been expanding the distribution capability of the business by signing an agreement with Alpagem to distribute in France and an agreement with Godfrey & Wing to distribute in North America.  Alpagem are highly experienced in the component cleaning industry, having represented some of the leading German manufacturers in France.  Godfrey & Wing have a very broad experience of surface treatment, and both supply machinery and undertake contract processing for their customers.

“Everybody involved in industry will be fully aware of the difficulties anticipated for this year, but it is our firm belief that these are best addressed by positive commitment based on delivering proven systems, high performance and good value,” continued John Pattison.  “Before joining MecWash, I telephoned numerous customers to get their impression of the business.  It was customers’ ringing endorsements that convinced me the MecWash proposition really does meet the needs of modern manufacturing and I am delighted to have joined such a dynamic company.”
