Meggitt has been awarded a contract worth more than $100m (£64m) to supply around 200 compact printed circuit heat exchangers (PCHEs) for gas-processing applications on Petrobras’s floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels near Brazil.
The vessels are situated in the Lula and Guará Pre-Salt fields in the Santos Basin.
The majority of the heat exchangers will be assembled in Brazil. The assembly process starts this year and is scheduled for completion in 2017.
A new Meggitt company, Meggitt Do Brasil, will collaborate with local suppliers on materials sourcing, project management, fabrication, training, aftermarket services and field support.
