Metalock's thermal spraying expertise keeps the beans moving

On the recommendation of steriliser plant suppliers FMC, in Belgium, Metalock of Coventry was contracted to repair a worn drive shaft on a steriliser plant for one of its clients. Metalock set up its orbital turning equipment on the shaft and machined the journal area dow to 115mm diameter. Sufficient metal was then deposited to restore the shaft to its original 125mm to accept a tight fit bearing sleeve. Within four days of being shut down the steriliser was back in operation.
