The E series of mini vacuum pumping stations has recently been introduced by Pfeiffer Vacuum, the company that invented the turbomolecular pump back in 1956.

Its high performance is said to be due to the small turbopumps used coupled with a quiet oil-free diaphragm pump. An ultimate vacuum of between 2 x 10-7 mbar and 1 x 10-9 mbar can be achieved by the pumps.

The series has a small footprint of 27cm x 28cm and varies in height from 30cm to 35cm depending on the model.
