MoD’s e-purchase system linked to Exostar

The UK Ministry of Defence has expanded its electronic Purchase to Payment system with the establishment of a link between it and Exostar, the aerospace and defence trading exchange.

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has expanded its electronic Purchase to Payment (P2P) system with the establishment of a link between it and Exostar, the aerospace and defence trading exchange.

P2P was launched in September 2002 and is being piloted within the Defence Logistics Organisation (DLO). The system can be accessed in a number of different ways, including via the Internet.

Since its introduction, over 100 suppliers have signed on to use the system, with almost £50 million worth of contracts being placed.

To mark the occasion of the expansion, over £1 million worth of contracts will ‘go live’ on the system, including contracts worth £850,000 from BAE Systems, one of the defence companies that has worked alongside the MoD to develop the system.
