Moldflow launch internet-based moulding software

PLASTICS process and design specialist Moldflow has launched an internet-based version of its Plastics Xpert software, allowing users to monitor data in real time via their web-browser.

The software, iMPX, will offer features including plant status assessment, part counts, production summaries, job and machine scheduling and process control. Moldflow claims that iMPX will bring significant benefits to companies carrying out moulding operations at remote locations.

`It empowers businesses to monitor production processes in plants around the corner or all over the world,’ said a spokesman for the company.

`The ability to obtain real-time data during production is a giant step in gaining time to market.’

iMPX is the latest internet venture by the Moldflow design company, which earlier this year launched plasticszone.com, an internet site providing software for predictive engineering in injection-moulded plastics.
