Monitran launches the MTN/1450 high-sensitivity seismic accelerometer
The sensitivity of the MTN/1450 is 10V/g ±10% and it operates over the frequency range 50mHz to 500Hz (3 – 30,000 cycles per minute). It features low-pass filtering, which eliminates high-frequency noise, and is supplied with a low-noise power unit and amplifier with user-selectable gains of 1, 10 and 100.
Neill Ovenden, Monitran’s Sales & Marketing Director, comments: “Employing the MTN/1450, users can measure and monitor low amplitude and low frequency vibrations that would otherwise not be detectable using traditional industrial accelerometers. Also, our recently announced VI-sage hardware and web-based product means near real-time vibration levels can be made available, on the web, for academic research or for business purposes.”
The sensor operates over the temperature range -10 to 65oC and is hermetically sealed in a cylindrical stainless steel enclosure (6cm diameter by 7.2cm high overall) with 16mm mounting hole.
Ovenden concludes: “The seismic sensor is a valuable addition to our extensive range of accelerometers and vibration-based condition monitoring solutions. Also, whilst we are already known in many industrial and processing sectors for the high quality and reliability of our products, we are also keen to extend this reputation into civil engineering, specialist manufacturing and the scientific research community.”
The MTN/1450 is available immediately.
