More billions for Boeing

Boeing and Jet Airways have finalised an order for 20 Next-Generation 737-800s valued at nearly $1.5bn at current list prices.

All of the aircraft will be equipped with blended winglets, which Boeing claims will improve fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions by up to four per cent.

‘The 737 has proved to be a reliable and efficient aircraft on our network and has provided economic value for our airline and comfortable travel for our passengers,’ said Naresh Goyal, chairman of Mumbai-based Jet Airways.

Jet Airways operates one of the youngest aircraft fleets in the world including 50 737s of different classes.
