Pera, a Leicestershire-based technology and training consulting group, has been awarded a government contract by Motorsport Development UK (MDUK) to support the commercial development of motorsport through a new academy.

MDUK is a public-private partnership between the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform and four Regional Development Agencies – East Midlands, West Midlands, East of England and South East England.

The academy will form part of MDUK’s five-year plan to develop emerging talent and business opportunities in the British motorsport industry.

According to MDUK, Pera was chosen for its extensive programme-management experience and business-development expertise.

Pera’s Business Intelligence Centre will equip motorsport-based businesses with market information in an attempt to keep the industry competitive.

In addition, the company will coordinate the delivery of training needs for emerging talent in a bid to ensure the UK remains a global leader in the motorsports industry.
