Mounting options boost inverter’s flexibility

Flexibility is the watchword for Schneider’s Altivar 58 inverters. On show at Drives & Controls, there are three drives in the range. The first uses a traditional IP20 enclosure with a removable keypad; the second has the heatsink removed and is mounted on a baseplate allowing integration into OEM products; and the third is a decentralised design with an integrated IP55 drive-starter solution.

Option cards provide for PLC communications over Modbus Plus and Interbus-S, and direct connection to the range of Magelis HMI interfaces.

Ease of commissioning and maintenance is facilitated by PC software for off-site programming and by a hand-held programmer with a storage capability of up to eight differing programmes.

Another development is a new software version of the Modicon TSX micro PLC, which means programming for AS-i is extremely simple. You can program and configure a complete AS-i system using a master module located directly inside a Micro or Premium PLC rack.
