National Grid orders standby unit from Energetix Pnu Power

Energetix, the group of companies behind the products Pnu Power, Genlec and Vphase, has announced that its subsidiary Energetix Pnu Power has received an order from National Grid to supply a unit to be used in a standby power application supporting switchgear at National Grid’s 275kV switch yard in Pitsmoor.

This forms part of the transmission network that supplies power to the industrial heartland of Sheffield, UK.

To date, the Pnu Power product range has been sold in to the telecommunications and grid-switching markets with systems in the 2–20kW range.

This order represents the fourth unit to be ordered by National Grid UK and National Grid US, and successful operation of the unit will mark the end of the trial phase of the National Grid UK product-qualification process.
