INTERNATIONAL subsea inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) group Harkand has today (August 22, 2013) announced the appointment of John Reed as its new chief executive officer as it embarks on the next stage of its ambitious growth strategy.
Reed, an industry veteran with more than 30 years’ experience in the offshore engineering and construction sector, will lead the development of the company as it drives forward with its target of growing turnover to $1 billion in the next five years.
Harkand aims to become a leading global name in subsea inspection, repair and maintenance focused on attaining the highest standards in health, safety, quality and environmental performance along with first class project execution. Employing 750 people at bases in Aberdeen in the UK, Dubai in the Middle East and Singapore and Perth in Asia Pacific, Harkand aims to grow turnover to $1 billion in the next five years. Harkand announced recently the acquisition of Veolia Marine Services, the closing of which is expected soon.
