NEW SICK SELECTION GUIDE TO ENCODERS

SICK UK has launched a new interactive guide to encoder selection to assist specifiers and design engineers to choose the correct type and technology to match their application needs.

The SICK Selection Guide for Encoders is downloadable as an interactive pdf from www.sick.com. The guide explains the differences between the main encoder types and what they are used for.  A question and answer format and an encoder terminology glossary also help users cover key specification issues.

“We are anxious that engineers don’t regard encoder selection as some sort of black art,” comments Darren Pratt, encoder product specialist for SICK (UK). “If they only choose what they have used before, they might be missing out on a better solution.

“The specifier should be able to view and understand the features and benefits of the widest range of encoders. The range of products is wide and the numbers of variations of each model is extensive but, by applying a little organisation to the subject, we have made it much easier for customers to match their needs with the optimum encoder.”

The guide is also available via the following link: http://www.sick.com/group/EN/home/products/product_portfolio/encoders/Pages/positioning_encoders.aspx .
