Division’s alliance with Silicon Graphics

Silicon Graphics and Division have announced a strategic alliance under which they are working together to demonstrate and promote the advantages of deploying Onyx2 based Visualisation solutions for Virtual MockUp applications within manufacturing.

LMS International acquires CADSI

LMS International has announced the strategic acquisition of CADSI. In the takeover, CADSI will become LMS CADSI, and form the LEM Mechanical Simulation Technologies Division a new strategic business unit focused on virtual prototyping and design simulation. The division will be headed by Rex Smith, CADSI’s current general manager. CADSI is a leading supplier of mechanical computer aided engineering solutions, and is best known for its flagship products DADS and PolyFEM.

FIN Engineering buys PlantSpace

Meta4 Systems has sold the first installation in Ireland of Bentley’s PlantSpace, to FIN Engineering Group. The company is using PlantSpace to produce process and instrumentation drawings, bills of materials, cutting lists and fabrication drawings.

SDRC agrees to buy Imageware Corp

SDRC says it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Imageware Corporation for approximately $31 million. SDRC chairman, president and CEO Bill Weyand stated: ‘The needs of current and future SDRC customers will be addressed by combining resources from Imageware and SDRC. This acquisition will position I-DEAS solutions to surpass today’s standard and to deliver best in class surface modeling capabilities to meet the production requirements of the automotive and aerospace industries.’
