has introduced a miniature CMOS linear regulator that conducts the lowest output noise in the industry and features high power supply ripple rejection, while consuming 25uA of quiescent current.

The LP5900 is a 100mA low drop-out linear regulator optimised for powering analogue and RF signal-path integrated circuits (ICs), including low-noise amplifiers, voltage-controlled oscillators and RF receivers.

Using a patent-pending design, the LP5900 linear regulator emits 6.5uVRMS of noise and features a high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of 75dB without the use of a bypass capacitor.

National says the LP5900 is available in a four-bump micro SMD package that measures 1.1mm by 1.1mm. Its small form factor, combined with two 0.47uF ceramic chip capacitors, optimises board space and reduces a customer's bill of materials.

The LP5900 is available in multiple output voltages ranging from 1.5V to 3.3V, including 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.0V, 2.2V, 2.5V, 2.8V, 3.0V and 3.3V.
