British Airways is using the latest variable speed drive technology from Parker Hannifin to cut energy consumption by up to 95%, on air handling and environmental control systems at its Flight Training centre at Heathrow Airport. The variable speed drives are a key part of a long term project to upgrade British Airways’ 18 simulator cells, and are helping to cut energy and overall maintenance costs, and to ensure that each flight simulator is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
