PECCS submits CCS funding bid for multi-fuel power station

Ayrshire Power Limited (APL), the company proposing to build a new multi-fuel power station at Hunterston in North Ayrshire, Scotland, has announced that sister company Peel Energy Carbon Capture and Storage (PECCS) has submitted a bid for funding support through the European Union’s NER 300 demonstration carbon capture and storage (CCS) funding competition.

The submission is aimed at securing funding for PECCS to deliver the CCS aspects of the proposed facility, which would burn both coal and biomass and use highly efficient modern technology with strict emissions control.
