Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract to construct a 66 gross megawatt electric (MWe) circulating fluidised-bed (CFB) steam generator for Fortum Heat Polska. The financial details were undisclosed.
The new combined heat and power plant will be located in Czestochowa in southern Poland, and will burn coal and up to 25 per cent biomass.
Under the contract, Foster Wheeler will design and supply the CFB steam generator and auxiliary equipment, as well as carry out the building and commissioning of the boiler island.
The plant is scheduled to enter operations in 2010.
