Desmi has won the Wholeship Pump Integrator contract for the Royal Navy’s Future Aircraft Carriers (CVF) programme, a deal worth £3.3m to the Staffordshire-based company.

The role of Wholeship Pump Integrator means Desmi will oversee all the CVF’s pump supply and contract management.

Pumps will be supplied for duties and services that include bilge and ballast, lube oil and fuel oil transfer and cooling, with additional services to be considered in the future, such as pumps for the ship's heating, ventilating and air-conditioning system.

The CVF contract will involve 15 Desmi personnel in Newcastle, Staffordshire, and approximately 50 other people working as subcontractors to Desmi in other UK locations.

Chris Wilson, Desmi’s sales manager, marine and offshore UK operations, said: ‘The contract from a marine division point of view is the largest undertaken by Desmi to date and will initially provide the company with work for the next two years and then far beyond this initial period by providing integrated logistic support and maintenance solutions for the ship's service lives.’
