QT has bought Motorola’s optoelectronics business unit, acquiring all of Motorola’s assets and technology relating to the manufacture of optocoupler products. The acquisition doubles the size of QT’s optocoupler business, and the new business will be the responsibility of Manor Narayanan, vice president of QT’s optical interface products group, who sees mutual benefits in the deal. He says: `Motorola’s customers will profit from our past success in integrating complementary products into our core portfolio, and providing reliable products, timely deliveries and affordable prices.’
