Raytheon awarded $116 million for F-15 radar upgrades

Raytheon has been awarded its fourth production buy, worth $116 million, for the US Air Force APG-63(V)1 radar retrofit program.

According to Raytheon, current test data indicates the APG-63(V)1 fire control radar system provides the F-15 Eagle with significant improvement in system reliability, along with performance improvements, higher throughput and greater memory that improves the F-15’s ability to identify enemy aircraft.

Raytheon will deliver 34 APG-63(V)1 radar systems, spares and special test equipment.

Raytheon’s Air Combat and Strike Systems business unit is performing the work under contract to Boeing.
