Singapore-based
Tiger Airwayshas ordered International Aero Engines’ (IAE) V2500 from
Pratt & Whitneyto power up to 50 new Airbus A320-family jets.
The order, covering engines for 30 firm and 20 option aircraft, has a total value of $330m if all options are taken up.
The V2500-A5 has seven available thrust settings from 98,000 to 147,000 Newtons to power the Airbus A319, A320 and A321 family of aircraft as well as the A319 Corporate Jet.
Pratt & Whitney have also agreed to back the order with a long-term V2500Select service contract.
IAE is a multinational aero engine consortium comprising of shareholders Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, the Japanese Aero Engines and MTU Aero Engines.
