Rockwell Automation has formed a strategic alliance with Systems America, an e-business solutions and ERP implementation service provider, to develop a set of products that will link plant level applications directly to ERP applications like SAP R/3.

Through the alliance, customers will get access to expert integration capabilities for linking SAP R/3 manufacturing and production modules such as Production Planning (PP), Quality Management (QM) and Plant Maintenance (PM), to Rockwell Automation Manufacturing BusinessWare solutions.

Manufacturing BusinessWare combines a tailored mix of value-added services, software integration tools and manufacturing software applications to provide a complete solution for tightly integrating plant floor production facilities with the business systems that run the corporate enterprise.

With the integration of ERP and e-business applications, Rockwell Automation and Systems America will offer the full range of capabilities to create a completely integrated enterprise, improving return-on-assets and profitability for the user.

With the alliance, Rockwell Software RSBizWare modules will offer certified links to SAP applications. The RSBizWare RSSql transaction manager will address the need of providing flexible data collection functionality across multiple SAP applications.

‘Manufacturing BusinessWare solutions are designed to address the top issues facing today’s manufacturing enterprise – improved asset management, better equipment and line efficiency, more effective quality management and process improvements,’ said Rich Ryan, president, Rockwell Software. ‘Unless you can transfer the information you need from the plant floor to a higher level system you can’t have much of an impact on these top issues. This alliance gives customers a tool to complete the transfer of information across the enterprise.’

ERP systems will be fully supported by Systems America’s e-innovation centres world-wide. The combined offering will give customers the benefit of reduced system integration time and reduced cost while increasing process efficiency and safeguarding current ERP and manufacturing systems investments.

‘Systems America provides innovative ERP and e-business solutions, and it makes sense for us to work with Rockwell Automation. We can deliver a total integration solution that will support knowledge flow between plant floor and ERP applications, bringing together the information required to make better management decisions,’ said Adesh Tyagi, CEO Systems America.
