Advanced Machine & Engineering says its NFPA style AMLOK RCN pneumatic rod clamp has been developed as a solution to inherent control problems in pneumatics – over travel, drifting, bouncing and reverse travelling.
The AMLOK has been designed with oversized components to withstand the most severe applications. The contact area of the clamping collet is said to be considerably greater than on similar units, with the increased contact area reducing the pressure-per-square inch on the rod, so extending service life. The patented intensifier is a mechanical design, ensuring a long service life even under severe operating conditions. The high locking force will hold the rod in any position, and since the clamping is accomplished through spring force, lack of air pressure will not cause drifting.
