Rosyth, Fife-based logistics, packaging, pallet and engineering supply company Scott Group has acquired tools and engineering consumables business Fasco.

This latest purchase brings to a total of 26 the number of businesses Scott Group has acquired since 1998. According to the company, it is now on course to grow its annual turnover of £85m to £150m within the next three years.

Based in Grangemouth and the Shetland Islands, Fasco’s arrival comes as Scott Group owners also bring on board Fasco’s multi-million pound parent company, the property business ROK Holdings.

A division of the property business, Fasco will now be split off to become part of the Scott Group while ROK Holdings will become part of Scott Properties, a separate venture started in 2005.

The deal will secure 57 commercial properties in Stirling for Scott Properties, which already has a £6m commercial portfolio covering Bristol, Huntingdon, Cambridge and Grimsby.

With turnover of £10m and 60 staff, Fasco gives Scott Group the opportunity to cross-sell tools, industrial fasteners and health and safety equipment and clothes to its existing customer base.

The acquisition of Fasco comes as the business consolidates its offices, workforce and distribution centre in new purpose built premises at Grangemouth.
