Sensors beat the field

IFM says reliable sensing of piston positions in pneumatic cylinders even in the presence of strong electromagnetic fields, such as those produced by nearby welding is now easily achievable with its range of MKU weld field immune magnet sensing proximity sensors.

Sensitive only to magnetised targets, the new sensors are designed for fast and easy mounting on most types of pneumatic cylinder. They are available with plain die-cast bodies, or with bodies featuring a Teflon based coating which is very effective in resisting the build-up of weld spatter.
