Yaskawa says its new SGDC multi axis servo drives – the first from the company in 400V rating – can save up to 70% of the panel space required by equivalent standalone units. They’re on show at Drives & Controls.
The servos are flat packaged and are just 50mm wide in the 0.5kW to 3kW versions, so in multi axis applications an entire rack of amplifiers and the converter isn’t going to take up much space.
The drives have been optimised for use with Yaskawa’s Sigma series SGM servo motors. These are claimed to be half the size and weight of other designs with an equivalent output.
