Warrington-based protective equipment manufacturer Shieldtech Group has won a contract to supply a specially developed innovative modular body armour system to a major overseas defence client.
The contract, won following an international competitive tender, is worth £1.8m initially, with the option of potential further sales and upgrades which could total £3.2m over three years.
Shieldtech chairman Tim Wightman said: ‘We are delighted with this contract win. The contract was contested against some strong competition from all over the world and so the win further enhances our reputation as a major global player in the body armour industry.’
The Shieldtech Group designs, manufactures and distributes ballistic protection equipment, predominantly body armour, to UK police forces. It is also increasing the business it does with the MoD and in export markets.
