Siemens Energy has received an order for the turnkey construction of a combined cycle power plant.
The purchaser of the 435MW Hemweg 9 plant is the Dutch utility Nuon, a subsidiary of Vattenfall.
The gas-fired plant will supply power to more than 750,000 Dutch households.
The start of commercial operations is scheduled for late 2012 and Siemens will also be responsible for plant maintenance.
