Singapore Airlines powered by Trent

Singapore Airlines has selected the Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine to power a follow-on order for nine Airbus A380s. Rolls-Royce’s TotalCare long-term services are also included in the agreement.

The latest engine order follows one for an initial fleet of 10 A380s ordered by Singapore Airlines, of which two have entered commercial service.

Other aircraft operated by Singapore Airlines include a fleet of five Airbus A340-500s, powered by the Trent 500, and 58 Boeing 777s powered by the Trent 800.

In addition to this contract, the airline has selected the Trent 700 for a fleet of Airbus A330s that are due for delivery from 2009.
