Segue software has announced the availability of a new version of SilkPilot, an integral component of Segue’s eConfidence solutions, which is available immediately in the US and Europe.
Segue has added a range of powerful features to SilkPilot to enable software development and quality assurance professionals to evaluate the performance of e-business applications, based on multiple disparate middleware platforms.
SilkPilot is an integral part of Segue’s eConfidence solutions, a range of products and professional services enabling customers to manage the full lifecycle of e-business applications, from application testing and deployment to monitoring and ongoing management. In version 2.1, Segue has enhanced the functionality of SilkPilot, improved ease of use and extended its functionality across multiple middleware platforms.
SilkPilot is claimed to be the first product to allow developers and quality assurance professionals to test applications based on leading middleware standards and technologies, including JavaBeans, Java/RMI and Corba. As new middleware technologies are introduced and adopted, software developers find it increasingly difficult and time consuming to ensure servers and databases accurately interact with user interfaces and e-business applications. Automating the functional verification of applications based on complex middleware technologies saves businesses considerable time.
‘SilkPilot, a key component of our eConfidence solution, allows developers to thoroughly review their software to eliminate bugs and anticipate potential problems caused when disparate systems are integrated,’ said Todd Scallan, vice president, California development laboratory, Segue Software. ‘The new features of SilkPilot 2.1 reinforce our dedication to providing the most complete set of tools for ensuring e-business reliability.’
