Steel Engineering and SHI exchange skills to lower costs

Steel Engineering has entered into an initiative with Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) to reduce the long-term costs of renewable energy structure development.

In 2012 Renfrew-based Steel Engineering won the contract to deliver the offshore jackets and transition steelwork for the Samsung 7 Megawatt Offshore Wind Turbine project at The Energy Park at Methil in Fife, Scotland.

This new initiative will see both companies sharing best practice in welding and fabrication techniques and technology, along with skills sharing collaboration.
