Cobham’s Aviation Services Division

(CAvS) has been chosen by

AgustaWestland

as an approved supplier and strategic partner on the

MoD's

Joint Modification Service (JMS) programme.

According to Cobham, this announcement is in line with the government’s Defence Industrial Strategy to ensure that the UK supply chain benefits from strategic partnering agreements with UK prime contractors such as AgustaWestland.

This is a significant development for CAvS, building on experience modifying rotorcraft for the Defence Helicopter Flying School at its Bournemouth International Airport facility.

CAvS has been selected to perform the embodiment and development packages of work under the guidance of AgustaWestland, which remains the prime contractor for JMS.

Andy Stevens, Cobham’s chief operating officer, said: ‘We have a long-standing and excellent working relationship with AgustaWestland, so I’m delighted that we’ve been able to build on this to implement a key aspect of the Defence Industrial Strategy for the JMS programme.'
