Sula Systems support contract

Aerospace and defence consultancy Sula Systems will play a key role in developing the UK’s military helicopter strategy after winning a technical support contract with the Ministry of Defence.

Gloucestershire-based Sula will work with the MoD’s newly-formed Defence Equipment & Support helicopter team, advising on the implications of the various options for the UK fleet over the next 25 years.

Sula said areas to be covered include assessment of potential new platforms, mid-life upgrade options and cost/benefit analysis.

The group will also look for any capability gaps arising from the different strategy options for the UK helicopter fleet and suggest ways in which these can be filled.

Sula said it plans to work with the entire ‘helicopter community’ to come up with a balanced set of options, building on its experience of other major MoD programmes such as Bowman and FRES.
