A new line of high melt films from Stevens Urethane, a division of JPS Elastomerics, is designed for use in multi-layer laminations and other applications where materials are subject to high temperatures.
New Stevens ST-1665 is a polyether thermoplastic polyurethane specially formulated for excellent heat resistance. It provides one of the highest melt temperatures available in a thin urethane film, between 190 degrees C and 210 degrees C.
In multi-layer laminations, the material will typically be used on the `high heat’ side of the lamination. The high melt temperature of the urethane allows it to maintain its integrity and performance characteristics while films on the other side of the substrate soften and bond, forming a multi-layer lamination.
