FLIR Systems has introduced the A6700sc, which is designed for electronics inspections, medical thermography, manufacturing monitoring and non-destructive testing. Featuring a highly sensitive 640 x 512 pixel resolution Indium Antimonide (InSb) detector, the camera produces temperature-calibrated infrared (IR) imagery that is perfect for demanding research and science applications.

The A6700sc is suitable for use with high-speed thermal events and fast-moving targets. Short exposure times allow users to freeze motion and achieve accurate temperature measurements. The camera’s image output can be windowed to increase frame rates to 480 frames per second to accurately characterise even higher-speed thermal events, helping to ensure critical data doesn’t get missed during testing.

A6700sc cameras have been designed to stream temperature-calibrated data over Gigabit Ethernet to a PC for live image viewing and recording. Using FLIR’s ResearchIR software, researchers and scientists can easily monitor, acquire, analyse and share data. In addition, extender rings for zoomed-in fields of view make the camera suitable for imaging small thermal targets, while close-up lenses can detect spot sizes down to 15µm per pixel.
