The Alfa-V Single-Row air-cooled condenser range from Alfa Laval is specifically designed for commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning duties.

Its principal features include a shape determined in the laboratory to provide maximum air cooling while the low coil resistance reduces the energy consumption of the fan motors.

In addition, its small footprint and ability to operate with all HCFC refrigerants in capacities ranging from 35-550kW enables the Alfa-V Single Row to be used in a variety of buildings, including large supermarkets.

A coil design based on 5/16in copper tubes and corrugated aluminium fins is said to provide excellent heat transfer at a minimised refrigerant charge.

Standard fin spacing is 2.1mm.

The casing material is galvanised steel sheet, pre-painted with an epoxy finish (RAL9002) and incorporates separate fan sections.

The fan motors are available in 800mm or 910mm diameters and are equipped with thermo contacts to provide reliable protection against thermal overload.

The overall energy efficiency of the condensers keeps the refrigerant charge to a minimum, according to Alfa Laval.

The units can be supplied in different levels of noise emission ranging through standard, quiet and high performance to residential for units intended for use in residential locations where noise nuisance has to be minimised.

Electronically commutated (EC) fan motors are also available as an option.

All are manufactured to ISO9001 and are all Eurovent certified.

The modern, clean lines of the design are complemented by heavy duty materials that ensure a long working life.

The total package comes with a two-year guarantee.
