Stem Drive has completed an installation at a wastewater site in Michigan, where a wet well pumping chamber was experiencing a build up of rags and other solids consolidating into a floating mat.

With the presence of rags and the inaccessibility of the chamber making installation of mechanical mixing equipment unfeasible, a Stem Drive air mixing system was chosen.

Once installed, the Stem Drive mixing nozzle does not need to be removed for maintenance or to be serviced, making it suitable for applications where access is limited or undesired, for example in nuclear decommissioning.

Stem Drive mixing nozzles were installed from outside of the chamber on guides that located the nozzles in the optimum position for the task.

The power source, a compressor, was located on an upper floor of the facility building, allowing routine servicing to be carried out with ease.
