ITC is offering Air Turbine Tools’ Air Turbine Spindles, which are designed to improve spindle capability and productivity levels of machine tools.

The Air Turbine Spindles can be utilised for high-speed drilling, milling, slotting and engraving to enhance cycle times and surface finishes.

These new spindles maintain constant high speed and torque under variable loads with a TIR accuracy of 0.005mm.

The range features more than 40 spindles, which are all easily mounted, maintenance-free and require no lubrication.

Air Turbine Spindles offer integrated CAT, BT, HSK and DIN tool holders – with a new auto changer option that enables the units to integrate into most machining centres.

Air Turbine Spindles are available in five different series.

The 601 XJS series is a 90-degree compact and powerful spindle with an air-consumption governed motor.

It maintains a constant speed and torque under load at 65,000rev/min.

The unit generates a noise level of less than 67dBa for quiet machining at high speed.

Alongside the 601 XJS is the 601 XJSL, which is an extra long series that enables customers to reach deep into pockets with a compact high-speed spindle mount.

This enables operators to mill, drill and conduct finishing operations in cavities and intricate components with difficult-to-reach surfaces.

To offer a higher speed range, the 602 Series has been developed with 0.2HP patented motors that maintain high-speed cutting at 40,000, 50,000 and 65,000rev/min.

The 602 Series has a maximum 3mm ER8 collet capacity, which makes it ideal for engraving, marking, slotting, drilling and finishing operations with small tools.

It has a 0.005mm tolerance level.

It reduces vibration and improves accuracy and rigidity.

The 602 Series is available with HSK63, CAT40, BT30, BT40 and DIN designations that all have a maximum weight of 1.31kg.

A new 602X with 0.4HP is now available with E11 collet and double front ceramic bearings.

For applications with a 6mm tool capacity with an increased power level of 0.45HP, the 625 Series has a vibration level of just 0.4mm/sec to deliver exceptional accuracy.

Available with speeds of 30,000, 40,000 and 50,000rev/min, the 625 Series is suitable for mould-making, milling and finishing operations with cutting tools of 6mm diameter and smaller.

For applications demanding greater power, the 650 Series is the workhorse of the range, generating 0.88HP at 25,000, 30,000 and 40,000rev/min.

With constant high speed and torque under load, the 650 series is guaranteed to increase the speeds and feeds of any machining operation to improve productivity and surface finishes.

With a remarkably low noise level of below 67dBA, the 3kg units are available with HSK-A63, HSK80, CAT40, CAT 50, BT40 and DIN configurations, as well as a JSL long series for machining cavities.

Alongside the 650 is the 650X Series, which offers identical speed and configuration options to the 650 but with a powerful 1.4HP motor for more robust machining applications, such as milling harder steel or speed maintenance on parts with many corners.
