The PI 412c inline printer from Automated Packaging Systems can be added to an AB 180 packaging system to reduce the cost of product identification without affecting the system’s high output speeds.

The printer is capable of imprinting at speeds of up to 30cm/sec, which is equivalent to approximately 80 bags per minute.

Used in conjunction with the AB 180 packaging system, the PI 412c adds product identification information such as barcodes, text and graphics to individual packs.

According to the company, it is capable of printing more than 40 traceability markers, including 2D barcodes and UPS Maxicode.

Key benefits

  • Label changes are said to be quick and straightforward — pre-stored label designs can be accessed at the touch of a button or downloaded from a database using a PC connection.
  • The printer’s high-capacity on-board memory stores job data for rapid pack changeovers, helping to maximise system uptime to boost productivity.
  • The PI 412c uses system-matched Autolabel thermal transfer ribbons, which the company claims ensures good printing quality.
  • The system features Autobag Print-n-Pack technology, which allows it to interface with Autolabel design software or customers’ own bespoke software, making the PI 412c simple to integrate into an established packing operation.
