Baumer offers sliding connection for level switch

By Baumer on 27th October 200915th December 2015

Product Details Supplier Info More products

Baumer is offering a sliding connection for its Flexlevel Switch 4401, making the hygienic level switch suitable for high process temperatures of up to 200C.

The optional sliding connection is available in 100mm and 250mm lengths and can serve as a cooling neck or extension if the medium has to be reached through the tank insulation or if the level detection has to be adjusted to a certain height, for instance.

Thanks to the DN38 process connection, the sensor is suitable for food-and-beverage applications.

For the use in hazardous areas, different ATEX versions are available.

The sliding connection enables the sensor’s application either as a cooling neck in high media temperature applications for a temperature range from -40C to a maximum of +200C or as an extension for various installation options.

By using this method, the medium can be reached through a tank insulation or from the top of a tank.

The sensor tip can reach deeper into the tank in order to detect the correct level of viscous media that stick to the tank wall.

The Flexlevel Switch 4401 detects the level of liquids, viscous fluids and dry media.

For difficult media, such as adhesive substances, the teach-in function enables a manual adjustment of the level to be detected.

The switching status can be chosen as ‘normally opened’ or ‘normally closed’.

The output type can be chosen as PNP, NPN or digital-out by the programming unit.

A bright-blue light on top of the switch shows when a media is detected.

The indication can be seen even if the sensor is mounted on top of a tank.
